Today's postcard

At Steph and Mike's, Aaron is known these days as "Doctor Everywhere."

To no one's surprise, his nine-month check-up revealed that he's healthy and in the 95th percentile for height, weight, and head circumference. One of his favorite play spots these days is Nora's kitchen. Luckily for him, Nora is agreeable to sharing her kitchen, play food and cooking utensils. His teachers at school declare him to be good-natured and busy all day.

Aunt Tina gave him a bath last weekend and wrapped him in the elephant towel she once got for Nora.

And sweet Nora. She sent me a Strawberry Shortcake postcard and dropped it in the mailbox herself. I sent one of my postcards back to her, and she could read the message, I (heart) Nora. Gran B. Steph showed her where her address was printed so the mailman knew where to bring it. How fun.

Nora is suddenly all legs, with spring bruises, red nail polish, and fancy flip flops. She has glow-in-the-dark stars over her bed and a tiny flashlight to shine on them. She loves to look high in her closet for "a book I haven't read before." And there are lots of books in that closet.
