Hang On

Sixth grade band concert was Thursday night and "Hang On Sloopy" is still running through my head.  Serious kudos to the band directors.  How do they take 100+ kids, most of whom don't know how to read music and have never played an instrument and over a school year teach them to play together?  The thought makes me head spin.

Hoping for a dry day today to mow the grass.  Before the rain starts again tomorrow.  And it's expected to continue all next week.

But this morning, it's wet.  Long rain delay for the Reds last night.  The Friday night fireworks didn't start until almost midnight.  The Reds had thirteen runs.

I'm a terrible housekeeper.  Never learned at home, my mother had other interests, like me.  But, I've stumbled on a website about how to clean your house in 20 minutes a day for 30 days.  My house is looking a lot better.  Maybe I just needed someone to tell me what to do.

Some of the days have tasks that take longer than 20 minutes, and in fact I'm spending more than 20 minutes a day most days.  Like today, cleaning the interior windows?  What???  Maybe a few of them.  Plus, I have a little routine of five things to do daily.

So, we'll see how this works.  I know I feel better when my house is clean.  It's hard for me to feel creative when my house is a mess.

Yesterday I damp mopped all the floors. There is construction dust on everything. I try and do the damp mop everyday but sometimes I don't have time. Or I forget. I also try and empty the recycle bucket or the garbage can whenever I am leaving for work (3 days now per week) and I also try and empty the compost bucket at least once a week.

I need to visit the laundromat, the library and someplace else I have forgotten--oh, it wasn't a place--it was vacuum the carpets. Painter is coming by on Monday morning to get started. Once he paints the little closet the washing machine will live in--I can have them hooked up and running. Heaven to think about. Until then--two loads at the laundromat. One white, one dark.

I am back on the 100mg inhaler (not the 250) and it was cold, I worked hard, lots of soil mixing etc and no need for rescue inhaler--so all is good. Plus I got a raise. 75 cents an hour. It isn't much but then it was also a surprise. Not supposed to "tell" anyone.
